Pakistani singer Urooj Aftab has scored her first Grammy by winning a prestigious trophy for her song Love in the Best Global Performance category.
She has lived in New York for almost 15 years and is constantly gaining international attention for her work, which combines ancient Sufi traditions with folk, jazz, and minimalist implications. Congratulations @arooj_aftab. Time and again our artists through their own conviction and hardwork prove their genius to the world while back home State still fails to invest in the arts & give this industry the freedom and infrastructure to explore its talent & improve its craft https://t.co/0bpRyDflaT
