Pakistani Teen Takes Home the Go-Karting World Championship Victory

The previous records of Formula One drivers Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen were broken by Enaam Ahmed, who is the first Pakistani to win the go-karting world championship.

He holds the record for most victories in a single season (13), surpassing Ayrton Senna, and is the British Formula 3 Champion and the first Pakistani driver to ever win a high-level Formula Championship. He is also the most successful British Formula 3 driver in history, making him the most successful Pakistani-descent racer in the history of motorsport. He was born in London to Pakistani parents and first developed an interest in racing when he was eight years old.

His parents supported his passion by enrolling him in child-friendly local go-kart tracks, but they had no idea their son would break Lewis Hamilton’s record and win the world championship at the age of 14 by winning both the European and the World Championships.

Enaam Ahmed is a professional racer of Pakistani descent who has won five championships in a single year, breaking Ayrton Senna’s record and becoming the first Pakistani to ever take home a major motorsports title. He won the British Formula 3 Championship at the age of 17 and broke Lewis Hamilton’s record when he was just 14 years old. He felt a lot of pressure to succeed in those competitions, not only to establish his name but also to convince his parents that leaving home at a young age was the best choice. The fact that I raced as a Pakistani in these international competitions and won both the European Championship and World Championship levels is what means most to me, the athlete said in his words of pride.

He claimed that getting sponsors when he was young was the hardest part and that to stay in the game, he must consistently deliver and succeed. Enaam Ahmed, a racing legend from Pakistan, claims that Formula cars are dangerous in the US due to the close proximity of the walls. People are hurt or even die during racing in the US, and the sport itself is all about the risk. His mother doesn’t watch any of his races and has refrained from doing so since she doesn’t want to see her son racing at such high speeds. Enaam’s father encouraged him to find sponsors and his niche, and as he amassed victories, set records, and shattered them, the sponsors began to support him. He plans to finish this year’s season off and race in the Indianapolis 500 next year, and afterward, he will make joining Formula One his goal.
