Pakistani-American activist Ahsan Chughtai has been appointed senior adviser to New York City Mayor Eric Adams on South Asian and Muslim affairs, it was officially announced on Tuesday.
Ahsan is the first Pakistani and Muslim American to hold the post. He has taken charge after confirmation of appointment. He will build relationships with those communities in New York City.
He has been a public and political leader for over 20 years who has been involved in policymaking for all levels of government, founding nonprofit charities, and building relationships between community agencies and diverse communities in New York City.
