Pakistan Supreme Court has ordered the reopening of the Monal restaurant in Islamabad, and the prior order of the Islamabad High Court has been suspended (IHC).
After this, admin of Monal posted a message on their social media.
Judge Mazahir Naqvi postponed the IHC ruling that ordered the popular restaurants to close down during the hearing on Tuesday.
He wondered aloud, “How can the commands be carried out before the documents are signed?”
Makhdoom Ali Khan, the restaurant’s lawyer, argued during the last session that the eatery was shut down before the high court provided written documents.
He said that the Monal-Capital Development Authority (CDA) legal battle is still going on in civil court.
He went on to say that the IHC made the decision without recording any evidence. The restaurant Monal was not even named as a defendant in the case.
After hearing a case against encroachments, the IHC ordered Islamabad’s Chief Commissioner to seal the Monal Restaurant in Margalla Hills National Park and the Navy Golf Course on January 11.
