KP Receives around 800,000 Visitors in one Month thanks to Snowfall

According to a study issued by the Department of Tourism, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced a surge of more than 800,000 domestic and international tourists who came to enjoy the snowy winter.

According to statistics, 233,666 tourists wandered through Galliyat, 79,548 tourists traveled to Kaghan-Naran, and another 23,711 tourists, including 31 foreign visitors, set out on their way to Chitral. Over 550,000 visitors, including 17 foreign visitors, took a tour of the snow-covered mountains in Malam Jabba.

Speaking on behalf of the KP Tourism Authority, Muhammad Saad stated that the tourism police and other officials were working hard to assist the tourists. To make their trip simpler, he continued, the roads were cleared of snow with assistance from the administration. It is important to note that the Pakistan Army, the government, and the administration worked together to restore the places that had recently been damaged by floods brought on by climate change to make them popular tourist attractions.

A fresh round of rain and snow fell on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, escalating the chill and compelling those who live in hilly areas to stay inside.

The rain began to fall in the provincial capital early in the day and persisted irregularly all day. Due to the poor state of the roads, the rain inconvenienced commuters as well as drivers. The snow fell throughout the province’s mountainous regions from early in the morning and lasted through the night, From Mansehra, a correspondent further explains that heavy snowfall and downpours caused the top regions of the Hazara division to experience frigid weather.

Heavy snowfall blanketed the mountainous and alpine regions of Mansehra, Torghar, Kolai-Palas, Upper Kohistan, and Lower Kohistan, closing the Karakoram Highway and the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad road to neighboring towns. The snow began to fall early in the morning and it fell in sporadic amounts throughout the day. Due to the snowfall, Shogran Road and Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road were also closed.

The Kaghan Valley experienced significant snowfall, according to a news release from Rescue 1122, and its crews were prepared to provide both visitors and residents with all the assistance they could need. Amir Khadim, a representative of Rescue 1122, told reporters that his teams were prepared to assist tourists and locals in the event of any accidents brought on by the snowfall in the valley.

He claimed that the Kaghan Valley had volunteers and ambulances ready to go. Due to the bad weather and their concern over landslides, the police imposed restrictions on the entry of tourists and people outside of Kaghan town. Heavy downpours that began early in the day and persisted sporadically throughout the whole day were also experienced in the division’s low-lying areas. Mansehra and the rest of the division experienced a return of the freezing cold due to the unfavorable weather. Heavy snowfall was also experienced in Shangla, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, and Upper Chitral.
