After Lahore High Court Chief Justice Muhammad Amir Bhatti took notice of a viral video in which a man is seen abducting his ex-fiancé on a broad day from the area of Lahore, the police were able to produce the girl within a few hours.
He gave a deadline of 10 pm to IG Punjab Rao Sardar Ali Khan and Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana to ensure the safe recovery of the girl child. Judge Bhatti directed the IG Punjab to investigate the case at the earliest.
“What is the progress? He took the girl and you (police) were sleeping,” remarked the judge. He warned CCPO Kamyana and IG Khan that he would tell PM Shehbaz to remove them from office as they were “incompetent”.
Talking to the media after the incident, CCPO Kamiana confirmed that the accused had abducted the girl after breaking off her engagement. He added that the police failed to rescue the victims as the accused were hanged immediately after committing the crime.
In this shocking incident, a 10th-class student was abducted by a shooter in Lahore in broad daylight and came to light on Sunday.
