In a charity event held at London’s Benares Restaurant on Thursday, English screenwriter and producer Jemima Goldsmith revealed that £150,000 had been raised for flood relief in Pakistan.
The Pakistan Environment Trust and UNICEF’s flood relief efforts in Pakistan were supported by the event. Jemima expressed her gratitude to the audience for their kind contributions to the country’s immediate and long-term flood relief efforts. She also valued Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, for his assistance.

The former spouse of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan also published an online donation link in a tweet to raise money for UNICEF to aid children impacted by the nation’s floods and for the Pakistan Environment Trust, which is actively battling climate change in Pakistan.

Along with Jemima and her brother Ben Goldsmith, Sadiq Khan also uploaded a photo to social media, noting that the “great evening” raised “important funds” for Pakistan.

Fatima Bhutto, a writer and the granddaughter of the late president and Premier Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, was also present. Jemima thanked her for her assistance with the fundraising and emphasized that even if news outlets had “moved on,” millions of Pakistanis still require assistance.

Ihtisham Ul Haq, a journalist from Pakistan, attended the occasion as well. He thanked the Goldsmiths in a tweet for holding a “fantastic” event. The mayor of London spoke at the occasion, he continued, and he discussed how climate change is “particularly affecting Pakistan.”
