Google launches ‘Career Certificates’ for all Pakistanis

On Thursday, Google introduced “Career Certificates,” flexible learning routes for all Pakistanis that will help people advance their knowledge and build the digital skills necessary for in-demand careers.

According to a survey by AlphaBeta, digital technologies might generate up to Rs9.7 trillion ($59.7 billion) in economic value yearly in Pakistan by 2030 if completely utilized. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry in Pakistan has grown significantly over the previous ten years, with an average annual revenue growth rate of 20–30%.

Through “Grow with Google,” Pakistanis can now obtain the Google Career Certificates to develop in-demand technical skills in six different categories: data analytics, IT support, IT automation, project management, UX Design, digital marketing, and e-commerce. Google will provide 15,000 scholarships to pursue a Google Career Certificate through local partners IRM and Ignite, which include educational institutions, business partners, and charitable organizations. ICT-related exports presently total more than $5 billion, and the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication predicts that the industry will soon overtake all others as the nation’s top exporter.

Currently, the ICT sector employs around 4.7 percent of Pakistan’s labor force, with 200,000 workers, or 6 percent, being women. The ICT industry also has the most available vacancies, according to data from Rozee.pk, Pakistan’s leading job portal. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Pakistan’s Regional Director for Google Farhan Qureshi declared today that they are delighted to announce the launch of Google Career Certificates, an initiative under the aegis of Grow with Google. In collaboration with IRM and Ignite, we are also providing scholarships for 15,000 learners, allowing them to achieve credentials without paying a dime. The endeavor reflects Google’s commitment to contributing significantly to the growth of the country’s digital ecosystem.

The certificate program will open up new doors, enabling entrepreneurs, programmers, teachers, students, and job seekers to expand rapidly. As we work to advance the digital business in Pakistan, partnerships are developed with both the public and commercial sectors, the official said. Google Career Certificates are self-paced online training programs that are available on the online learning platform Coursera.

Twitter may levy a small fee to commercial and government users

They allow learners to open up new career opportunities without any prior experience or a degree in six fields: data analytics, IT support, IT automation, project management, UX Design, and digital marketing and e-commerce. Each certificate is made by Google’s specialists and is intended to give students practical experience while they are studying or working, giving them the freedom to advance at their own pace.

Syeda Dur-e-Hassan Rizvi, a data science trainee at the Institute of Engineering Career, said that despite problems and obstacles that may stand in the way, it’s imperative to persevere if we want to succeed. She has now completed the Google data analytics certification after dipping her toes into the realm of data. It was a wonderful chance to learn. She is more self-assured and eager to learn and advance. Mohammed Zunnurain Hussain, assistant professor in the department of computer science at Bahria University’s Lahore campus, stated that this qualification has significantly impacted my professional life. As a result of his international recognition, he is now getting job offers from all around the world. There are no restrictions.
