A 54-year-old Indian man who pretended to be a government official married 14 women around the country and was later jailed on allegations of marital fraud involving millions of dollars.

This occurred in the Kendrapara area of Odisha state, India, where a 54-year-old man defrauded many women by marrying them all across the country.

The person has been identified as Ramesh Chandra Swain a.k.a Bidhu Prakash Swain a.k.a Ramani Ranjan Swain, according to reports.

According to sources, the burglar had five children from his first marriage, which occurred in 1982, and his second marriage, which occurred in 2002.

One of the victims was a Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) officer in Punjab, from whom he collected Rs 10 lakh, as well as Rs 11 lakh from the gurdwara where the CAPF officer’s marriage ceremony was placed.

The man was apprehended after a complaint was lodged by a female New Delhi schoolteacher in July of last year. Swain married the woman in 2018 in Delhi Arya Samaj while acting as a ‘deputy director general’ level employee in the Union Health Ministry. The teacher later discovered that the accused had defrauded her and filed a complaint.
