According to Belarussian media outlet NEXTA, citing anonymous Ukrainian sources, the wife of former Ukrainian Member of Parliament Kotvytskyy, Anastasia Kotvitska, was apprehended by officials in Hungary with US$ 28 million and 1.3 million euros in cash packed in bags as she attempted to exit the war-torn Ukraine.
A photo of six suitcases loaded with cash was released by NEXTA.
The amount was declared in conformity with the law, according to Hungarian officials.
Many on Twitter wondered if the ex-wife MP’s had considered donating part of the money to the Ukrainian people to help them obtain basic necessities such as food, water, medicines, and diapers for their children.

According to local authorities, over 400,000 people are expected to be trapped in Mariupol, seeking refuge from heavy bombing that has cut off access to electricity, heating, and water.
