Karachi’s Dua Zehra was finally recovered from Bahawalnagar with joint action of Sindh and Punjab Police and produced in Sindh court today.
Karachi police produced Dua Zehra from Bahawalnagar and arrested her husband Zaheer and the sheltering facilitator.
According to authorities, Dua Zehra and Zaheer are being held by the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC), while the facilitator is being transferred to Lahore by Punjab police for further investigation.
According to SSP AVCC Zubair Nazir Sheikh, operations were launched across Pakistan to recover the girl.
After filing a lawsuit, Dua’s father asked the court to declare her daughter’s marriage to Zaheer Ahmed on April 17 invalid.

He claimed that Dua Zehra was less than 14 years old at the time of the marriage, based on her birth date.
The Child Marriage Act of 2013 makes it illegal to marry someone under the age of 18. She is 13 years old, according to NADRA statistics. On the other hand, the court had removed acting Inspector General of Sindh Kamran Fazal from his job for failing to recover the girl.
