NEW DELHI: In an embarrassing moment for the Indian flag carrier, an Air India plane stuck under a busy overpass near the airport in the country’s federal capital.
Reports in Indian media cited that the incident occurred when the jet was being carried on a vehicle and trapped under the pedestrian bridge while it has made headlines across the globe.

Air India also issued a statement saying the plane was destroyed and was sold. “Under any circumstances, there is no link with the aircraft”, it further added.
Meanwhile, a staff member of Delhi Airport told an Indian daily that the aircraft was not active and had been sold for scrap metal. He further added that the aircraft transporter was not part of their fleet, saying the ‘driver may have made an error’.

In the clip, the nose and its midsection made it through the bridge on Delhi-Gurugram highway while the wing region under the bridge got stuck leaving passersby amused.
The roasting of the incident started as people think jets of flying in the sky or being parked inside the airport and they go bananas due to the unusual sight.
The viral clip garnered thousands of viewers on social networking sites and on video streaming platforms however, this isn’t the first of its kind of incident in the neighboring country.
A similar event occurred back in 2019 in the Indian state of West Bengal when an old Air India aircraft got wedged under a while being transported on a truck.
