Grand Jirga in Quetta Pledges Full Support to Pakistan Army Against Indian-Backed Terrorism in Balochistan


QUETTA, Pakistan – In a significant show of unity, a grand jirga of tribal elders from Balochistan has unanimously pledged full support to the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Armed Forces. The jirga, held in Quetta, reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the security, stability, and development of the province amidst rising threats from Indian-sponsored terrorism.

The event was jointly addressed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who both emphasized the critical role of the tribal leadership in defeating terrorism and strengthening national integrity.

Indian-Backed Proxy War in Balochistan Exposed
Field Marshal Asim Munir condemned the ongoing proxy war allegedly backed by India, declaring it an “open act of terrorism” against the people of Balochistan.

“This Indian-sponsored proxy war is no longer hidden. It is a direct attack on our peace, progress, and sovereignty,” he stated. “Pakistan has concrete proof of Indian involvement in terrorist activities across Balochistan.”

He vowed that the Pakistan Army, with the full support of the nation and the resilient Baloch people, will crush all enemies, whether foreign or domestic.

Peace in Balochistan Is Non-Negotiable: Army Chief
Reiterating the strategic importance of Balochistan, Field Marshal Munir emphasized that peace in the province is non-negotiable and directly linked to Pakistan’s overall prosperity.

“Our armed forces remain fully alert and prepared to respond decisively to any threat,” he added.

PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows Justice for Shuhada, Strong Support for Security Forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the bravery and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies operating in Balochistan. He assured the families of the Shuhada (martyrs) that the state stands with them and that terrorists, their facilitators, and sponsors will be held accountable.

Visit to Command and Staff College Quetta
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister visited Command and Staff College Quetta, where he addressed student officers and faculty. His remarks focused on the importance of professional excellence, operational readiness, and strategic foresight in tackling hybrid and regional threats, particularly in sensitive areas like Balochistan.

“India’s terrorist proxies aim to destabilize Pakistan and disrupt our development. But our resolve is stronger than ever,” he said.

Baloch Tribal Elders Unite Against Extremism
The jirga concluded with a strong resolution by tribal elders, who reaffirmed their loyalty to Pakistan and their determination to fight extremism and foreign-sponsored unrest in Balochistan.
