Concerns arise as the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) releases the results for the first-year (Part-I) examination, indicating a failure rate exceeding 50 percent.
The inter-board spokesperson reveals that the arts first year (private) category witnessed a 72 percent failure rate, while the arts (regular) category faced an 80 percent failure rate.
Out of 11,046 candidates in the Arts (regular) exams, only 2,298 were successful, and in the Arts private exams, with 2,795 candidates, only 792 passed all the papers.
Furthermore, Commerce (private) exams saw a 63 percent failure rate, with 1,986 candidates participating, and 744 candidates successfully passing all the papers.
