1100 out of 1100: Nowshera orphan girl sets record by passing matric exams with full marks

PESHAWAR – An orphan girl from Nowshera District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, sets a new record in the country’s history as she passed the matriculation exam by attaining full marks.

As the board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan has declared the results of matriculation, a student of Science Group topped the exam by taking 1100 marks out of 1100, in a first in the history of South Asian country.

A student of Model High School, located in Akora Khattak was the only student across Pakistan who had made the record by securing the highest possible marks.

Speaking at the ceremony arranged for position holder students, she mentioned achieving the feat with the help of the teachers whose hard work and dedication brought life time achievement for her. Qandeel also mentioned her mother’s prayers which helped her getting full marks.

Meanwhile, Mardan Board Chairman seems delighted with Qandeel’s achievement. He also announced a fee waiver for Qandeel to acknowledge her talent.

Let it be known that Mardan Education Board Tuesday announced the result of the intermediate exams, in which Fiza Majeed took the first position with 1088 marks while Muhammad Mudassar Khan got the second position with 1086 marks. Khadija Alamzeb got the third position with 1084 marks.

Around 70,000 students appeared in the examinations, out of which 68,854 were declared successful.  The passing percentage was recorded around 97.82 percent in the Matric exam whereas 96.48 percent passed the Intermediate exam.
